Ive done the keratin treatment and my little sister has them every half year, it's really good works well no visible damage and makes her glossy, my hair no longer frizzes on humid days and (i have curly hair) it cuts straighting time down to 5 mins plus i don't have to do it everyday. My opinion WORTH every penny and i give it a 4 star rating.

Hmmm, that’s pretty much what i am looking for. You got it done at a salon? And i am always worried about silicon in products locking up my hair so other oils can’t penetrate the hair, you know if the Keratine treatment does that?

I have a relative who got a Keratin straightening treatment. Her hair was flat alright, but after some time she got the weirdest split ends I've ever seen :/

That doesn’t sound to good.

Keratin straightening treatment

I am looking into it so i can completly cut straightening out of my hair routine. Did anyone of you ever get it done? How was it, did it last long, any negative side effects?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P1SFTZWqJI this video might be good for people to watch who are considering castor oil. i might try it, but i'm not too keen on the sound of having greasy hair for 3 days. she says she only used it twice and her hair grew an inch in a month! x

Thank you, i am going to take a look at it although an inch per month sounds a little to good to be true.

I dyed my hair with a semi-permanent dye beginning of November (so roughly 4 months ago?) but my hair isn't going back to my normal colour. I've tried a clarifying shampoo/conditioner but it isn't working like I was told it would. Is there any way I can help it get back without dying it again? (At this point, it'd be more like I'd be bleaching, which is something I really don't want to do.)

colour B4 , Colour Zapp or similar products can remove unwanted dye, there is more information, if you just go through this blog.

I’ve been growing my hair for ages now. So here we go. I’m only using natural and organic products, of course henna too.

COLOUR B4 VS. COLOR ZAP

Which one works better in your opinion?

Does the color zap lift more dye?

Is one of the two more damaging?

Hi, hello. First of all, you and your blogs are wonderful. This blog has been such a great help in my healthy, long lock journey. I know that you recently used a product to lift some of the color from your once black hair. It seems to have worked well for you and I think I might be ready to take the same route. I'm natural very blonde and I'd like to eventually get back to that, but I know it's going to take some time. Currently, my hair is black and has been for the past five months or so. Prior to that it was a few shades of red. What product(s) do you reccomend for both the color lifting and also for color itself and aftercare. I've seen some of the products you and others have posted, but I'd really like to do this soon, so favorite products! Thank you and all of the other lovely people who keep me inspired to keep it growing! Sometimes the shears are just so tempting. <3

Thank you so so much!

Keep in mind that i am not a hairdresser just a girl who’s obessed with her hair :)

So, what i would do is the following:

Get two boxes of Color B4 (if you can get the one for dark hair, i buy mine on ebay cause it isn’t available in my country),also get shampoo, conditioner and reconstructor from Joico K-pak and gro-aut oil from the gro-aut site (the color remover doesn’t fry your hair like bleach would but it will leave it a little dry!). Then use the color b4 EXACTLY according to the package, condition your hair well for a week, then use the color b4 again and keep conditioning. Depending on how much dye you could get out you might wanna do it again in a month. (i might have to do it a third time but i’ll see first how bad you can see my natural color growing out in a few weeks)

Keept it growing & healthy!

Hi - What a lovely name for a lovely blog! I'm growing my hair out for the first time in a while. I had a pixie hair cut in November of 2009, and now, it's shoulder length! I started taking prenatal vitamins a year ago, and I think they help!

Thanks a lot, glad you enjoy the blog!

I am going to get the prenatal vitamins too once the box i take now is empty.

Keep on growing!
