I hennaed my hair three months ago and have done two additional henna root treatments since. The roots are starting to get a lot darker now so I may try a cinnamon honey treatment to lighten them some.
Last week I cut off an inch of damaged hair from not getting trims for over a year. I haven’t used heat in over a year also and use all organic, SLS & alcohol free products. I am going...

I wash and treat my hair with balm (only SLS and mineral free.)
Since I started taking care of my hair I dont need to wash it as often and it feels really strong and my curls are waaaay prettier.
Oh and ofc I dont use heat, if i want to define my curls I just braid it or whatever. When I get to my goal leight i might start to style it with heat when i want to make it super pretty but right...
Anonymous asked: Thanks, but I didn't mean regular dye over the henna, I meant semi permanent like directions, manic panic etc?
I am going to make an F.A.Q.
Which questions should i include?
Anonymous asked: So I've been using henna to colour my hair for a while now, and just wondered is it safe to use semi-permanent dyes over the top of it?
SLS-free products
I’m kinda new to the whole hair lingo but I reckon SLS-free means no sulfates/salts. Anyways, I just switched to L’Oreal’s Ever Pure line a week ago since reading on here that sulfates are bad for your hair and my old Garnier Fructis was full of bad stuff! But anyways, it’s pretty cheap (i got it at Target), it’s doing good things for my hair like helping me stretch...
hipscrack asked: Do you have any braiding tutorials (like videos) specifically for people who have trouble braiding? I've never been able to get a handle on it and could really use some help!

Anonymous asked: I really want to grow out my hair so i deep condition, dont use heat etc. My hair now is a little past shoulder length. Its medium brown, not dark and not light. I havent dyed it in a while, and my dark blonde roots are showing, and i know that its more damaging to dye it lighter but should i go to my natural hair color?

How To Style Maiden Braids →
Last month I did a makeover story with Kelsie and had many requests for a maiden braid tutorial. Yesterday she came in and we photographed these simple step by steps. Kelsie has extremely long and thick hair, but anyone with shoulder length or longer can do these braids (see my photo below for an example).
Steps 1-2: Braid two strands on each side of a center part.
Steps 3-5: Wrap braids...

Anonymous asked: Hello, your blog is my hair bible! I love it! But anyways, I bleached my hair 2 years ago, and I measured the roots, and it only grew 6 inches! Thats literally 1/4 an inch a month! I started taking biotin about a month ago, and I don't see any results, anything else I can do?
cerebraljelly asked: Hello! Your blog has fantastic tips. I am in need of one myself! I have been dying my hair black for some time now. I want to return to my natural shade of light brown/ blonde. Do you have any suggestions of natural ways to accomplish that without the use of harsh chemicals?
simplisticdesire asked: so my hair is down to my lower back and all the tutorials for "long" hair never work because I have so much hair. Do you know any tutorials for super long hair? Thanks! <3
